Mission
My main mission is to guide my clients on their unique journey towards sustainable mental and physical health combining evidence based medicine and specific therapy programs with the highest levels of confidentiality, empathy, flexibility and medical excellency. Together with my network of highly qualified international specialists, I offer comprehensive diagnostics leading to personalized and effective treatment interventions via a unique matching process. I always aim to empower individuals to overcome adversity and create fulfilling, healthy lives.
Education and Training
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to study, work and live in several countries of our beautiful planet. Born in Freiburg in the South of Germany, I studied Medicine, Philosophy and History at the Charité University Medicine Berlin, Humboldt University Berlin and the University of Zurich with additional practical trainings at University Hospitals in Rio de Janeiro, Boston and Madrid.
I received my medical doctorate (Dr. med.) from the University of Zurich and specialized in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy via a comprehensive residency program at the University Hospital of Psychiatry Zurich and the University Hospital Zurich (USZ).
I completed the postgraduate trainings in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) at the VFKV in Munich, in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Freud-Institute in Zurich and in Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT). As a psychiatrist and psychotherapist, I am licensed by the Swiss and the German Medical Association.
Professional Experience
In 2016, I became the Deputy Head of the Center for Acute Psychiatry at the University Hospital of Psychiatry Zurich and part of the extended clinic management. In recognition of my continuous teaching engagement in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, I was awarded the title of “Klinischer Dozent” (KD) as a clinical lecturer by the University of Zurich in 2023.
Besides my appointment at the University Hospital of Psychiatry Zurich, I enjoy my work as senior consultant at several private clinics in Switzerland and as private consultant for international clients worldwide. I have worked as an advisor to several national and international private businesses and governmental organisations concerning comprehensive mental health programs.
Research Interests
My clinical research focus at the University of Zurich lies in neuroscientific models of major psychiatric diseases, transcultural psychiatry and the implementation of digital tools and artificial intelligence into mental health and clinical care.
A more area of inquiry in my research is the role of mental health in the growing field of longevity via collaborations with multidisciplinary international specialists and institutions. Before my appointment at the University of Zurich, I was a research fellow at Harvard Medical School in Boston and underwent research training programs at Cambridge University and the University of London.
Professional Affiliations
I am a member of the Swiss Medical Association (FMH), the German Association for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics (DGPPN), the Medical Association of Zurich (ÄGZ) and board member of the network for relatives (NAP) Switzerland.
Personal Interests
Besides my deep interest in understanding the human mind and the different cultures of our beautiful planet Earth, I am a travel, literature and sport enthusiast.
